Feather Heads and Eye exams

Missy and Beth discovered the fun of having feathers in their hair in June. Beth got a purple feather after Mommy had brown, red, and yellow feathers added to her hair earlier in the month. Beth loved all the compliments about her feather.

Joshua had to get an eye exam per doctors orders in relation the pain he still suffers in his hips. I guess she was trying to rule out other indicators including juvenile arthritis. So after all the tests were done it was determined that Josh doesn't need glasses and the muscles in his hips are weak and just need working out. This doesn't fix his pain, and maybe down the road we will find out something else is the cause, but for now the treatment is to work-out the muscles.

Elliott's 10th birthday

Elliott's birthday was an all out neighborhood blast! I can't believe Elliott has been with our family for 8 years. It seems only a few months ago that he was such a little thing. One of my favorite quotes from when he was little was right after he picked a scab. He said, "Gook! Gook, blub. Blub my yegg!" It was just so cute the way he said blood and leg. Now Elliott is almost a tween. Some of Elliott's best attributes are his desire to read and learn things about science and urban legends. He also is very sweet to his sister Beth. He loves stuffed animals, and legos. He continues to try to make us all laugh and love the bathroom humor in lifes scenarios. He has never been fond of animals and the outdoors, but he has made great strides this year in accepting them and even enjoying them at times. He learned to ride his bike this summer without the use of training wheels. Elliott continues to be small and thin, and under a doctor's watchful eye (because of the tumor on his pituitary gland) he is healthy and strong and growing, albeit slowly. Life without Elliott in our family would be a lot less dull.

Zucchini, peas and broccoli from the garden. I was surprised the broccoli didn't get any bigger.

Can  you ever have too much zucchini? The answer is YES! We can't seem to give it all away.
