Nauvoo!

At the beginning of our vacation this summer our family took a trip to Nauvoo Illinois to enjoy the historic area surrounding the Nauvoo temple. We had a blast and learned much about the early latter day saints and how life was lived in that time era by all. We loved the shows and played hard. Below are some pictures for y'all to see.

I love to have pictures of my family in front of the temple, even if it isn't "our" temple.

The kids loved the children's center here in Nauvoo. Beth dressed up and played in pioneer wear despite the hot humid day. She was quite cute.

We loved all the musical talent found here in Nauvoo. We missed the pagent, but we didn't miss it because of all the other concerts and plays. What I loved the most is that most of these individuals just finished one mission and were on another here in Nauvoo.

At the gunsmith shop. A very interesting place...especially for the boys. We learned that the designs from the man who made the guns here in Nauvoo went on to be the designs for most of today's gun makers.

There were so many trees and green lush grass and flowers to enjoy. Here is one of my favorites.

At the end of the trip we went to the store on the other side of the village and got root beers. Beth was tired of walking by the end of the day.
