Mountain Wilderness Camping Preview

We are planning a camping trip in the spring. We went up to the mountains to check out the areas Jay wants to camp in. Here are some pics of the rest of us keeping entertained while he hikes the trails a bit with the dog.

We were all enchanted by the sparkle stuff in the sand and water. "Is that gold?" No it is mica, but still pretty.

Jay's birthday cupcake surprise

For Jay's birthday this year the kids and I played a joke. We made meatloaf cupcakes for him. The kids thought it was funny and were laughing too much to be sneaky. Jay loved the cupcakes!

Is it time to send me to the funny farm yet? Whenever I find money in the washer or dryer I sing the chorus to this song. Can't you hear that Jingle Jangle Sound? It's money, money, money by the pound!

December 2013

Here are some pictures from our December 2013

 Elliott has continued playing the violin and is really good at it. He continues to play in the county honor orchestra for his grade level.

 Here's what to do with bored children during intermission:

 Joshua has also started orchestra this year playing the viola. This is from his first concert.

 

You may have noticed Joshua looking around for someone. He had invited a friend that was a girl and her family to concert. They were unable to make it which broke his little heart. I was proud of him for putting it out there though. 

 I made the kids pose for Christmas portraits. Most exciting thing that happened over Christmas is that Michael came over for a few hours. It was great to see him and spend time with him.

Can't believe this kid is already 16. Where did the years go?
