My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book by Lisa See far more than Snow Flower and the Secret Fan as it was less graphic in its "love story." I loved to see the relationship of sisterhood and motherhood expressed so acurately by See and I was really enthralled in historical events that the Chinese experienced prior, during, and after World War II. An excellent book!
